After studying medicine in Florence (Italy), Filippo Passetti went to Cambridge to study towards a PhD in Experimental Psychology. He then trained in clinical psychiatry in Cambridge and London, including lectureships at the Royal Free & UCL and at St. George’s Medical Schools. He worked as consultant psychiatrist at Camden & Islington NHS Foundation Trust and at the Cambridge community alcohol services. He is now the Clinical Lead at a private residential treatment unit (Life Works Community) and a Visiting Consultant at the Priory Hospital Roehampton. He lectures on the Cambridge MRCPsych course and has honorary clinical research appointments at the University of Cambridge and Imperial College.
Filippo is a general adult psychiatrist with experience of working in all areas of psychiatry, and with a special interest in alcohol, drugs and behavioural addictions. He has published in a range of addiction treatment topics and he is involved in major research on neurocognitive impairments associated with addiction and relapse.
Filippo sits on the Board of Trustees of a London based charity that offers treatment for individuals with substance misuse or other addictive disorders.
