I completed my medical education in Italy [Pisa] and my postgraduate qualification in General Adult Psychiatry in London.
I worked in multiple psychiatric services within NHS including the Early Intervention Service in Psychosis, Home Treatment Team, Community Mental Health Team, and Neuropsychiatry.
Since 2013, I have been appointed as substantive Consultant Psychiatrist at South West London & St George’s Mental Health Trust.
I have always had a strong interest in the scientific research aimed at understanding the genetic and environmental factors causing mental illness. This brought me to work as postdoctoral visiting fellow at the prestigious National Institute of Health, USA. As a result of my work, I obtained a PhD and published multiple articles for international scientific journals. In London, I continued my research activity working as Clinical Lecturer at the Institute of Psychiatry, Kings College London.
As general adult psychiatrist, I have experience of working in all areas of psychiatry with a special interest in anxiety and mood disorder. I work at Cognacity as well as in the NHS as consultant in Early Intervention in Psychosis.
